Chinese bus manufacturer Xiamen King Long Motor Group (King Long) has supplied 200 liquefied natural gas (LNG) buses to Shenyang, the capital and largest city of Liaoning Province, as well as the largest city in Northeast China. The LNG model XMQ6119AGN5 will operate on six different routes across the city and are being used to transport visitors to the 12th Chinese National Games in Shenyang which opened 31 August.
Operated by Shenyang Anyun Group, the low-floor city bus (length 11.49 m , width 2.55 m) is certified to equivalent Euro V emissions standard, significantly reducing emissions compared with the previous buses and helping reduce traffic emissions in the the city. It can carry more than 80 passengers.
The group first introduced natural gas buses into its fleet on New Years Day 2010.
All new taxis in the city must use natural gas, able to fuel at up to twenty compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) filling stations by mid 2016.
